The Hardee Wildcats lost against the DeSoto County Bulldogs last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Hardee received a tough blow as they fell 41-22 to DeSoto County. Hardee has struggled against DeSoto County recently, as their game on Tuesday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Jazlynn Jones and Rihanna Frederick certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Jones scored four points along with eight rebounds, while Frederick scored nine points. Jones is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.
DeSoto County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Keyara Montinat led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Jaliyah Luther, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Hardee has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-7 record this season. As for DeSoto County, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-2.
Hardee will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024. As for DeSoto County, they will head out on the road to face off against Bayshore at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bayshore has insisted on making their lastfour contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 0-3-1 during that stretch of close contests.
