The Greenwood Wildcats will square off against the Mount Calvary Christian Chargers at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Greenwood lost a heartbreaker the last time they played East Juniata, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Wildcats put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 16-5 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Wildcats' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Greenwood got a massive performance out of Owen Losch, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave Losch a new career-high. Ben Jones was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Greenwood kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 8.8.
Meanwhile, Mount Calvary Christian won against Annville-Cleona on Thursday with five runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. The Chargers walked away with a 5-1 win over Lancaster County Christian. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
The team relied heavily on Ben Gerlach, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Hubler, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.
Mount Calvary Christian's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Greenwood, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Greenwood has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mount Calvary Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Greenwood's way against Mount Calvary Christian in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Greenwood made off with an 8-1 win. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Chargers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
