The Archbishop Mitty Monarchs fell victim to the Valley Christian Warriors's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Warriors 35-0. Archbishop Mitty was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Valley Christian apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Joey Campagna threw for 95 yards on eight of 18 attempts. Caden Allard was his top target, picking up 47 receiving yards.
Valley Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marcel Leggett, who rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns. Ekiah Mclemore also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Archbishop Mitty has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-6 record this season. As for Valley Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 6-6.
Archbishop Mitty will look to defend their home field on Friday against Christopher at 7:00 p.m. Christopher is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Valley Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against St. Ignatius College Preparatory at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Ignatius College Preparatory will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
