The Greene County Tigers are still winless after their game against the Greensboro Raiders on Friday, but the team can take solace in the fact it was the closest they've come to winning. Greene County fell just short of Greensboro by a score of 40-38. While losing is never fun, Greene County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 379th, while Greensboro is ranked 187th).
Several Tigers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jhari Barnes, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremiah Bullock, who scored 8 points.
The last time Greene County won on the road was back on Tuesday. Having now lost six straight away games, they've bumped their record down to 0-7. As for Greensboro, their win bumped their record up to 1-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greene County is on the road again on Wednesday and play against Demopolis at 5:00 p.m. on December 6th. Greensboro will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hatch at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th.
