Basketball Recap: Northern Garrett Skates Past Hancock with Ease

It's playoff time, and Northern Garrett had no trouble coming through when it counted. They claimed a resounding 71-26 win over the Hancock Panthers. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Abby Nelson, who went 12-for-21 on her way to 29 points in addition to six rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Northern Garrett's points. Another player making a difference was Veda Rebuck, who posted 12 points along with six boards and three steals.

Northern Garrett smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in six consecutive matchups.

Northern Garrett has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.1 points over those games. As for Hancock, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

As of now, neither Northern Garrett nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
