The St. Bonaventure Seraphs will take on the Grace Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
If St. Bonaventure beats Grace with 16 runs on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Seraphs were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over Buena on Thursday. Considering the Seraphs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Maci Schotten was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February. Hudson Ortiz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.
St. Bonaventure always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .622. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Grace came tearing into Tuesday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 4-1.
Rosy Salazar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Grace Maguire was excellent, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lexi Bower, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Grace pushed their record up to 6-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Bonaventure, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Thursday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. St. Bonaventure hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Grace struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
St. Bonaventure beat Grace 9-6 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Do the Seraphs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Lancers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
