Sterling has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Austin Mustangs at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sterling knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six matchups -- so hopefully Austin likes a good challenge.
Last Monday, everything came up roses for Sterling at home against Sharpstown as the team secured a 80-40 victory.
Among those leading the charge was Henry Beteta, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Christian Rogers was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 87-46, which was the final score in Austin's tilt against Madison on Tuesday. Austin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Sterling's victory bumped their season record to 4-2 while Sharpstown's defeat dropped theirs to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Sterling against Austin when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 79-31 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sterling since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
