After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last five matchups, the Prairie View Academy Spartans finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 81-17 loss at the hands of Hillcrest Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Prairie View Academy has scored all season.
Leading Hillcrest Christian to victory were Darius Barnes and Ryan Bradley. Barnes scored 16 points along with five steals, while Bradley scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Barnes has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Battle, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Prairie View Academy's loss dropped their record down to 14-9. As for Hillcrest Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 19 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.
Prairie View Academy will face off against the Lions at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Lamar Christian is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Hillcrest Christian, they will face off against the Saints at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Prentiss Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Mississippi Rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Cougars are ranked 93rd).
