Pendleton County's last matchup with Elkins could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's match on Friday. The Wildcat came up short against the Tigers, falling 13-4.

Chase Owens was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Pendleton County's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 4-9 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Highland got the win against Craig County on Thursday by a conclusive 19-4. Considering the Rams have won five contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Highland got a massive performance out of Zach Armstrong, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Armstrong is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of John Wagner, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Highland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Pendleton County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Highland, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pendleton County has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Highland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Pendleton County's way against Highland in their previous meeting back in March, as Pendleton County made off with a 9-2 victory. Will the Wildcat repeat their success, or do the Rams have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
