West Yosemite recap September 4, 2013
Lemoore's Richard Doctor recorded the longest rushing play in West Yosemite this season in his game against Monache last week. Doctor's team defeated the Marauders as he sprinted for 80 yards on the play and finished with 313 in all.
Cort Groathouse and Trenton Mcghuey provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Monache. The longest such play in the league this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
Joey Chica was the best wideout in the league this week as El Diamante beat Tulare Union. Chica racked up 3 receptions for 94 yards.
Doctor was the best running back in West Yosemite this week. Rashaun Davis also contributed to the rushing game with 56 yards on the ground.
Doctor was a force in the backfield as Lemoore topped Chris Likewise's team.
Demarrea Joyce put up the best numbers through the air as Mt. Whitney lost to Porterville. He finished with 17 completions for 322 yards and 2 touchdowns. Joyce's favorite target this week was Chris Angulo, who caught 3 passes for 83 yards.
He was 17-33 with 0 interceptions.
Donnell Hill made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Miners bested the Redskins. The 5-foot-11 defensive back.
6-foot-1 quarterback Joyce of the Pioneers is the league leader in passing yards this season with 322. He has also thrown 2 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Chica. The El Diamante star has 3 catches for 94 yards.
Shannon pulliam's team moved up to 388 from 476 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of defeating the Marauders 47-0.
