The Foard Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 27 points or more this season. They blew past West Iredell 67-18 at home. That looming 67-18 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Foard yet this season.
Leading Foard to victory were Preslee Dula and Davoney Dellinger . Dula scored 20 points, while Dellinger scored 17 points along with five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Dellinger has scored at least 25% of Foard's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Imani Ikard, who scored three points along with nine rebounds and four steals.
Foard's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for West Iredell, they bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Foard will face off against Statesville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Statesville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Foard is ranked 164th). West Iredell is on the road again on Tuesday and play against East Lincoln at 6:30 p.m. on January 9th. East Lincoln will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
