If the Nelson Island Islanders were feeling good off their 83-41 takedown of the Chaputnguak Shaman last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Nelson Island fell to the Warriors 62-58. The contest was a 30-30 toss-up at halftime, but Nelson Island couldn't quite close it out.
Nelson Island lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Brennan Lincoln, who scored 14 points. Another player making a difference was Zachary Angaiak, who scored 13 points.
Nelson Island's loss dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Bethel, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Nelson Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bethel's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Seahawks at 4:00 p.m. on February 8th. Seward will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
