The Armwood Hawks waltzed into Friday's matchup with five straight wins but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lennard 49-14 at home. Armwood might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won six games by 34 points or more this season.
Armwood found their leader in underclassman Rhys Brush, who threw for 277 yards and six touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Girard Pringle, who rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries.
Lennard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Mobley, who threw for 119 yards and two touchdowns.
Armwood's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-1. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-8 Bloomingdale and 3-7 Lennard (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 36.1% over those games). As for Lennard, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Armwood will be playing at home against Wharton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Wharton's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. Lennard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
