The UMS-Wright Prep Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Faith Academy Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Alabama (UMS-Wright Prep is ranked 66th, while Faith Academy is ranked 51st).
UMS-Wright Prep owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 24-0 margin over Citronelle.
UMS-Wright Prep's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jake Jaye, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and Joe Lott, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns.
Faith Academy fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They claimed a resounding 29-0 victory over Williamson at home.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Faith Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyrell Dotson, who rushed for 85 yards and two touchdowns on only nine carries. Dotson was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 67 yards. Tynean Goodwill also helped out with an impressive 138 receiving yards.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-3.
UMS-Wright Prep won a contest that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in October of 2022, slipping by Faith Academy 21-20. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Faith Academy's Christian Burnette, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown. Now that he won't be playing on Friday, will it be that much easier for UMS-Wright Prep to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
