Tonkawa moved up to 135 from 162 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A District 1.
Alva extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Newkirk, 42-3. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Levi Hill was the most productive running back in the league this week. In nine carries, he ran for 157 yards as Hennessey beat Pawnee. Octavio Pina also contributed to the rushing game with 99 yards on the ground.
Danner Kiernan made the biggest impact on defense this week as Chisholm lost to Perry. The 6-foot-0 junior grabbed one interception.
Kale Hixon put up the best numbers through the air as the Maroons topped the Longhorns. He finished with six completions for 80 yards and two touchdowns. Hixon's favorite target this week was Braden Sweet, who caught three passes for 39 yards.
Fierro was the best wideout in 2A District 1 this week as the Eagles bested the Black Bears. Fierro racked up three receptions for 62 yards. Steven Lott helped Hennessey's passing attack out by catching one ball for six yards.
Perry's Hixon and Darreal Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Hixon has thrown for 731 yards this season, while Williams has 15 catches for 330 yards. Hill from Hennessey leads the league in rushing with 865 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Buccaneers take on Alva. Tonkawa is in third place, while Ryan Laverty's team is in first place.
Rick Luetjen's team led the league in scoring this week after putting up 64 points on Pawnee. Hill in the win.
