Lanier County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 21) but on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. Meanwhile, Echols County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Turner County, falling 70-40.
Lanier County pushed their record up to 19-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Echols County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lanier County against the Wildcats when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 65-25 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lanier County since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
