After a string of five wins, West Caldwell's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They lost 70-49 to the Asheville Christian Academy Lions. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 152nd, while the Lions are ranked 20th).

West Caldwell's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Caldwell will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Maiden at 8:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Asheville Christian Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Freedom at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
