If the MaxPreps national rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Stratton/Liberty. On Friday they will take on Flagler/Hi-Plains at 7:00 PM. Flagler/Hi-Plains will need to watch out since Stratton/Liberty have now posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
Last Friday, Stratton/Liberty put the finishing touches on their 7th blowout victory of the season. They put a hurting on Arickaree/Woodlin to the tune of 60-20. Stratton/Liberty found Stratton/Liberty's leader in underclassman sophomore Jaret Lichty, who rushed for 92 yards and 3 touchdowns. That makes it seven straight good games in a row from Lichty.
Meanwhile, Flagler/Hi-Plains have had to suffer through a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Everything came up roses for them against Weldon Valley as the squad secured a 72-6 victory. With Flagler/Hi-Plains ahead 50-6 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Their wins bumped Stratton/Liberty to 7-0 and Flagler/Hi-Plains to 3-4. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
