The Andrews Wildcats scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Nantahala 78-28 on the road. The result was nothing new for Andrews, who have now won four contests by 26 points or more so far this season.
It was another big night for Jailen Powell, who scored 16 points. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for he. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Rattler, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and five assists.
Nantahala lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cole McCoy, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals. McCoy is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Landon Neal, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
The win for Andrews keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points per game. As for Nantahala, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Andrews will be home for the holidays to greet Cherokee at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Cherokee has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 231 points over their last three matchups. As for Nantahala, they will head out on the road to face off against Blue Ridge Early College at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Blue Ridge Early College is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
