The Mt. Vernon Mustangs have the luxury of staying at home another game and will welcome the Center Point-Urbana Stormin' Pointers Friday. Mt. Vernon is coming into the game hot, having won nine in a row.
It was all tied up 30-30 at the half for the Mustangs and Marion on Tuesday, but the Mustangs stepped up in the second half for a 71-62 victory.
Meanwhile, Center Point-Urbana had enough points to win and then some against Beckman on Tuesday, taking their matchup 55-39.
Their wins bumped Mt. Vernon to 19-3 and the Stormin' Pointers to 15-5. We'll see which team can carry over their success and which team inevitably falls when Mt. Vernon and Center Point-Urbana clash.
