The Gulf Breeze Dolphins waltzed into their matchup Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Pensacola Catholic 80-41 at home. That looming 80-41 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Gulf Breeze yet this season.
Among those leading the charge was Trent Peak, who scored 15 points. He also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Tre Ennis was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Gulf Breeze has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Pensacola Catholic, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that loss, which was their seventh straight on the road.
Gulf Breeze will square off against Fort Walton Beach at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Walton Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 394th, while Gulf Breeze is ranked 194th). Pensacola Catholic will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Archbishop McNicholas at 2:00 p.m. on December 29th.
