The Coweta Tigers will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Memorial Chargers at 7:30 p.m. Coweta will be strutting in after a win while Memorial will be coming in after a defeat.
Coweta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They put the hurt on Durant with a sharp 79-54 victory.
Meanwhile, Memorial lost to Holland Hall on the road by a decisive 51-33 margin on Friday.
Memorial's defeat came about despite a quality game from Jalil Cotton, who scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Garrett, who scored 6 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Coweta's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Memorial, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.
Coweta was taken down by Memorial 60-33 in their previous meeting back in January of 2021. Thankfully for Coweta, Tyreece Frierson (who scored 18 points along with 7 steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
