It was a good run, but Frontier School of Excellence unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 57-56 to Independence Home School. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Frontier School of Excellence had strong showings from Merwis Ramirez Rodriguez, who scored 19 points, and Henry Uti, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mohamed Yussuf, who scored seven points.
Joe Young was the offensive standout of the match as he scored 20 points. Isaac Daniels was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Frontier School of Excellence's loss dropped their record down to 5-1. As for Independence Home School, they pushed their record up to 3-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.
Frontier School of Excellence will head out on the road to face off against Ozanam at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Ozanam focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Tuesday. Independence Home School will be home for the holidays to greet Frontier STEM at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Frontier STEM comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
