Baseball Recap: St. John Paul II Academy Gets the Win

With a playoff win on the line, St. John Paul II Academy rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-1 victory over the True North Classical Academy Titans. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Titans on Monday, they had to take a 3-2 defeat.

Jack Wilhoit looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. John Paul II Academy's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Tommy Ciaccio, who went 2-for-3 with one run. That's the most hits Ciaccio has posted since back in March.

St. John Paul II Academy's victory bumped their record up to 17-9-1. As for True North Classical Academy, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 18-8.

St. John Paul II Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
