The Ocoee Knights will take on the Foundation Academy Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Foundation Academy will be up against a hot Ocoee squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Ocoee's pitchers stepped up to hand Jones an 18-0 shutout on Thursday. That looming 18-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Knights yet this season.
Jadore Thompson made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Thompson was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that she hit this season.

In other batting news, Ocoee let Jayda Solano and Reese Guido run wild. Solano scored three runs while going 1-for-2, while Guido scored three runs while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The dominant performance gave Guido a new career-high in runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Shyanne Marble, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.
Ocoee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive games.
Foundation Academy never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Umatilla last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 20-9 win. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won four in a row.
Kena Terry and Elizabeth Ozim did most of the damage at the plate: Terry went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Ozim went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Reagan Schirmer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Ocoee's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Foundation Academy, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Ocoee has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Foundation Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Ocoee came up short against Foundation Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 8-4. Can Ocoee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
