The College Prep & Leadership Academy Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 30 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat Cornerstone Charter 75-28 on the road. With College Prep & Leadership Academy ahead 43-12 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
College Prep & Leadership Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Robert Knotts led the charge by scoring 19 points along with seven assists and three steals. Marlon Carson was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five steals.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mukundi Massena, who scored eight points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Massena has scored all season.
Cornerstone Charter struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as College Prep & Leadership Academy racked up 20 assists.
College Prep & Leadership Academy pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.5 points per game. As for Cornerstone Charter, they have fallen quite a ways from their 15-7 record last season and are now at 4-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. College Prep & Leadership Academy will square off against Leadership Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant against one another: Caden Ryker and Jayden Davis. As for Cornerstone Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Winston-Salem Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
