Beachwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Goldi Aschkenasy led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Aschkenasy has scored at least 25% of Beachwood's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Schwartz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Brooklyn lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ashlyn Dyson. Despite the final result, she scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Olivia Callahan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Beachwood and bumps their season record up to 2-3. As for Brooklyn, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Beachwood will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Ravenna at 6:00 p.m. on December 22nd. Brooklyn will be home for the holidays to greet Lutheran West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
