Fairbanks and Cedarville are an even 4-4 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Fairbanks Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Cedarville Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Fairbanks is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Fairbanks beat Madison Plains 38-26.
Fairbanks' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Reese Poling, who scored nine points along with two steals. Hannah Boehm was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Cedarville was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 44-40 to West Jefferson. Cedarville has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Fairbanks' win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11. As for Cedarville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
Fairbanks strolled past Cedarville in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 50-34. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairbanks since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
