Ivan Oseguera of Liberty ran for the longest rushing play in Bay Valley this season against Pittsburg last week.
Antioch extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mt. Diablo, 48-0. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Panthers.
Antioch's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hunter Karnthong threw for 194 and four touchdowns and Jordyn Papagni had 92 yards receiving. On the ground Elbert Hamilton Jr. chipped in 235 yards. Darrian Jones helped Antioch's passing attack out by catching three balls for 64 yards.
Nsimba Webster provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Deer Valley defeated Vacaville. He completed 12 passes for 117 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 221 yards. Webster's favorite target this week was Deon Pruitt, who caught five passes for 64 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Webster of the Wolverines is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1008. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, John Lucido's team's Hamilton Jr. has rushed for 942 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Darrell Daniels. The Freedom star has 18 catches for 323 yards.
The top two teams in Bay Valley will face off this week when first place Antioch takes on second place Deer Valley. The Panthers topped the Red Devils last week, while Deer Valley beat the Bulldogs.
Antioch's Hamilton Jr. needs only 58 yards against Rich Woods's team next week to surpass 1,000 rushing yards for the season.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Panthers take on the Wolverines. Antioch has allowed 62 points this season, while Deer Valley has given up 112. The Panthers allowed 0 points last week as they bested Mt. Diablo.
There should be lots of points scored when Antioch and the Wolverines face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Panthers comes in having scored 212 this season, while Deer Valley has scored 202. Antioch scored 48 points last week as it topped Bryan Shaw's team.
The Wolverines moved up to 89 from 158 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. A 55-35 win over Vacaville helped Deer Valley improve its standing.
