Harrisburg scored a shocking upset when it eliminated Yankton, 26-18. At the time, the Bucks/Gazelles were ranked 14th in the state, while the Tigers were 31st.
Harrisburg was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from eighth to sixth in Eastern South Dakota. Brandon White's team beat Yankton 26-18 earlier in the week.
Mason Strahl put up the best numbers through the air as Arlin Likness' team lost to the Tigers. He had a total of 12 completions for 126 yards. Strahl's favorite target this week was JJ Hejna, who caught 9 passes for 140 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Bucks/Gazelles' Strahl and Hejna have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-11 quarterback Strahl has thrown for 1,132 yards this season, while Hejna has 38 catches for 821 yards. Mitch Johnson from Mitchell leads the league in rushing with 460 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Riggs and Aberdeen Central. The Governors enters the game ranked seventh in the state, while the Golden Eagles ranks 21st.
Watertown took down the Kernels 34-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
