The Skyline Grizzlies have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Snake River on Friday.
When it comes to explaining why Skyline lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shay Shippen. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Shippen scored a full 49% of Skyline's points, the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Alexa Haacke was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 9-3. As for Snake River, their win bumped their record up to 9-4.
Skyline will head out on the road to face off against Blackfoot at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Blackfoot is ranked 24th, while Skyline is ranked 29th). Snake River and Teton will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 4th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Teton will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
