Providence Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They fell to Concord Christian 70-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Providence Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Isaiah Peters-Daniels, who scored 19 points along with seven steals and six rebounds, and Nash Martinez who scored 20 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martinez has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Luke Gilmer, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.
Concord Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Drew Sloan, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Sloan is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 18 or more in the last three games he's played. Dominic Alford was another key contributor, scoring 20 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Providence Academy's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Concord Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-9.
