Eastside suffered a tough 63-42 defeat at the hands of Fort Wayne Canterbury on Tuesday. Eastside found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up eight fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Eastside still got an impressive performance from Clayton Minnick, who scored 18 points. Minnick scored a full 42.9% of Eastside's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Noah Acquaviva was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Devon Lewis, who scored 25 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Alden Greider, who scored 12 points along with 6 assists and 6 steals.
Eastside now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, their win bumped their record up to an identical 1-2.
Eastside has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Prairie Heights at 7:30 p.m. on December 9th. Prairie Heights is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Fort Wayne Canterbury, they will head out on the road to face off against Adams Central at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Adams Central and Fort Wayne Canterbury are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
