It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but New Palestine had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Rushville Lions. Winning may never get old, but the Dragons sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Jacob Morris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out ten over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Gavin Neal was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Jackson Kamp, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.
New Palestine's record now sits at 21-3. As for Rushville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
Looking ahead, New Palestine will square off against Indian Creek at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rushville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
