The Tenino Beavers were the 46-16 winner over the Rochester Warriors when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Tenino received a tough blow on Friday as they fell 44-30 to Rochester. Tenino has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the defeat, Tenino had strong showings from Cody Strawn, who rushed for 106 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries, and Jack Burkhardt, who picked up 119 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Tate Quarnstrom got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 191 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 8.0 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Palmer Watt, who rushed for 155 yards and a touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry.
Tenino's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Rochester, their win bumped their record up to 5-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tenino will take on Seton Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Seton Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Tenino in Washington (Seton Catholic is ranked 104th, while Tenino is ranked 220th). As for Rochester, they will head out on the road to face off against Woodland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
