Baseball Recap: Lake Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lake, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They put the hurt on the Scott Central Rebels with a sharp 17-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Hornets, who have now won 15 contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Kasen Tune was a major factor no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Trey Gray, who scored three runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Hank Geter was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Lake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scott Central only posted an OBP of .462.

Lake's win bumped their record up to 18-4. As for Scott Central, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Lake will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Rebels: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
