The Howard Wildcats gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 94-36 win over Hodgson Vo-Tech at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 61-28.
Howard's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaden Brown, who scored 23 points. Nick Baysah was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Howard's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Hodgson Vo-Tech, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Howard will be home for the holidays to greet St. Georges Tech at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully St. Georges Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday. Hodgson Vo-Tech will be home for the holidays to greet Delcastle Technical at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Delaware (Delcastle Technical is ranked 23rd, while Hodgson Vo-Tech is ranked 33rd).
