Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hidalgo). They blew past the Port Isabel Tarpons 17-1 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Hidalgo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Port Isabel only posted a batting average of .125.
Hidalgo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Port Isabel, they dropped their record down to 0-11 with the loss, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hidalgo will head out to square off against Valley View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Port Isabel, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on La Feria at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th.
