Baseball Recap: Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool Victorious

Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool hadn't done well against Summit Country Day recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Trailblazers walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Silver Knights. The Trailblazers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Silver Knights, too.

Eli Moehlman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Moehlman was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

In other pitching news, Cale Hubert tossed a big game, pitching 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Caleb Hodge and Landon McIntosh did most of the damage at the plate: Hodge got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run, while McIntosh went 2-for-3 with two RBI. That's the most RBI McIntosh has posted since back in March.

The win made it two in a row for Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool and bumps their season record up to 20-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Summit Country Day, they dropped their record down to 7-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Cincinnati Trailblazers HomeSchool will welcome Cincinnati Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Summit Country Day, they are taking a road trip to square off against Roger Bacon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
