While it was all tied up 15-15 at halftime, the Carlin Railroaders were not quite the Tonopah Muckers's equal in the second half on Saturday. Carlin was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 24-23 to Tonopah. Carlin has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Railroaders players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kylie Kennedy, who scored 11 points along with 8 rebounds. Kennedy scored a full 47.8% of Carlin's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Caileigh Shilts, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds.
Carlin's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Tonopah, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.
Carlin is on the road again on Thursday and play against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent at 5:20 p.m. on December 7th. Tonopah will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Eureka at 2:00 p.m. on December 15th.
