After flying high against Spartanburg  on Tuesday, Gaffney came back down to earth. The Indians fell just short of the Eastside Eagles by a score of  3-2 on Thursday. The Indians were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won  3-0.

 Despite the  defeat, Gaffney saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Mayson Brizendine  had 20  digs and two  aces. Brizendine has been hot, having  posted ten or more  digs the last five times she's  played.  Nicole Ellis was another key player,  getting nine  digs and three  assists.
Gaffney's loss dropped their record down to 11-10-2. As for Eastside, they have  been performing  well recently as they've  won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-16-1 record  this season.
 Gaffney didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next  contest,  a  3-0  victory against James F. Byrnes on the 7th. As for Eastside, they have also already played their next matchup,  a  3-0  defeat against Riverside on the 7th.
