Softball Recap: Bonham Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Bonham never got on the board in their matchup last Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Gainesville on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-1 margin over the Leopards. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Alayna Laisy was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jewyll Hemby, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI and two runs.

Bonham always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .719. They are 5-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Bonham is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Gainesville's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 4-12.

Coincidentally, Bonham and Gainesville will both be playing Sanger the next time they take the field. Gainesville will head out to face Sanger at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, while Bonham will head out to face them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
