Ridgeview (Bakersfield, Calif.) grabbed a lead in the first quarter and rode that momentum to a 28-13 win over
Mira Monte (Bakersfield, Calif.).
The Wolf Pack scored seven points in the first quarter. Ridgeview scored on a touchdown catch by
Brandon Tripp.
After taking the lead on a touchdown catch by Tripp in the first quarter, RHS led 21-7 at the half.
The Wolf Pack's most effective player was Tripp. The senior caught two touchdowns. He has now scored seven touchdowns on the season.
Angel Garcia played well for the Lions. The senior running back threw one touchdown. His performance brought his touchdown total to two on the year.
Ridgeview entered the contest giving up 19.5 points per game this year. The defense really stepped up, holding Mira Monte below its season average of 16.7 points scored per game.
The Wolf Pack also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 42-7.
With the win Ridgeview extended its winning streak to three games.
Ridgeview (5-2) will play a South Yosemite game against South next week, while Mira Monte (2-5) will take on Golden Valley also in a South Yosemite game.
