After both having extra time off, the Paris Coyotes and the North Shelby Raiders will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
The home team had come away the winner the last five times Paris and Schuyler County had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Coyotes really took it to the Rams for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-14 win. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won six games by 32 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Paris to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Ensor, who threw for 183 yards and four TDs while completing 75% of his passes, and also punched in one touchdown on the ground. Ensor's passing game has become a key predictor of the Coyotes' success: the team is 5-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Logan Mitchell, who picked up 168 receiving yards and a pair of scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Paris proved: they limited Schuyler County to a paltry 3.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Chase Kendrick for the heroic effort on defense: he. Paris didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 9.5.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Shelby). They claimed a resounding 52-16 victory over Schuyler County. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Raiders' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Rams are ranked 40th).
North Shelby's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Paris, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Paris couldn't quite get it done against North Shelby when the teams last played back in September as they fell 34-26. Can the Coyotes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
