Fans got a thrill when Cody Watson and Dallas Lyles connected against Walters. The longest such play in A District 4 this season, the connection resulted in 64 yards.
Velma-Alma made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,702 from 7,425. The improvement was largely due to a 21-0 victory over the Comets last week.
Watson threw for 253 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 17-29 with 4 interceptions.
Watson put up the best numbers through the air as Bray-Doyle fell to the Blue Devils. Watson's favorite target this week was Rodney Hall, who caught 9 passes for 133 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Donkeys' Watson and Lyles have proven to be a lethal combination. Watson has thrown for 474 yards this season, while Lyles, a 5-foot-7 receiver, has 9 catches for 205 yards. Velma-Alma's Sarian Smith leads the league in rushing yards with 349.
