The Brick Township Green Dragons are taking a road trip to face off against the Barnegat Bengals at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Brick Township will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
Brick Township's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against New Egypt as they made off with an 18-0 win. Considering the Green Dragons have won six contests by more than eight runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Peyton Horning was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Brick Township let Sean Savannah and Gavin Maffei run wild. Savannah went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Maffei went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave Maffei a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chris Quick, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Brick Township always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as New Egypt only posted an OBP of .333.
Brick Township hit Barnegat with a five-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bengals lost 10-0 to the Green Dragons. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Bengals' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Barnegat has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-8 record this season. As for Brick Township, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5-1.
Everything went Brick Township's way against Barnegat in their previous meeting on Friday, as Brick Township made off with a 10-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Green Dragons since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
