Columbus can attribute much of their success to Matthew Fernandez, who had 13 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Fernandez has posted over his last nine games.
Meanwhile, Reagan made easy work of Hialeah-Miami Lakes on Monday and carried off a 3-0 victory.
While Reagan might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Hialeah-Miami Lakes scored at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-18, 25-20.
Columbus better keep an eye on Santiago Mejia. He was instrumental in Reagan's win, getting ten digs and four aces.
Reagan was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 16 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive contests.
Columbus is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Reagan, their win bumped their record up to 13-1.
