After two games on the road, The First Academy is heading back home. They will take on the Windermere Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, The First Academy came up short against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy and fell 68-55. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for The First Academy in their matchups with Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy: they've now lost four in a row.
Despite their loss, The First Academy saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Lorenzo De jesus, who scored 23 points, was perhaps the best of all. De jesus is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Anderson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Windermere fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Windermere Prep on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lakers by a score of 85-82. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Friday (74), Windermere still had to take the loss.
The First Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Windermere, their defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-7.
