Washington Leadership Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Summer Smith, who scored eight points. That was a full 53.3% of Washington Leadership Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
DC International was led to victory by Vanae Biddix and Kai Davis. Biddix scored 15 points along with five assists and five steals, while Davis scored 17 points along with eight steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Biddix has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Diatou Diop, who scored five points.
Washington Leadership Academy's loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-1. As for DC International, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington Leadership Academy will challenge the Timberwolves at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Idea: 24.9, the : 23.2) so any points scored will be well earned. DC International will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Mighty Hoppers at 4:00 p.m. on January 27th. Georgetown Day is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52 points per game this season.
