East Wake never got on the board in their matchup two weeks ago, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Southern Wayne last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-2 margin over the Saints. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won six contests by 13 runs or more so far this season.
Scarlett Avila-Cristobal and Madison Keith made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Avila-Cristobal pitched two innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. Friday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. C.B. Aycock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .313. However, it's not like East Wake struggles in that department as they've averaged .363. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
C.B. Aycock came out on top in a nail-biter against East Wake when the teams last played back in March, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Golden Falcons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
